Married Life

So, I decided to create a blog because it is apparently the thing to do. Also, because I love checking my friends' blogs to keep updated on their lives. As we get older and busier in our lives we don't get to keep in touch as well as we all hoped we would. We all move farther and farther apart and this is a perfect way besides facebook to follow each others lives.

Well, I have been married for 3 months now and absolutely love married life. Not only is getting married an new adventure but being an army wife makes it that more interesting! I have met several girls who have also started this new journey as army wives and have found that we are all so much alike. There are three couples that Brian and I have been hanging out with and am so glad they are in our lives. One couple, Nick and Rachelle, is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and went to LSU. Another couple, Weston and Rachel, from Georgia and are huge Georgia fans. And the third couple, Ken and Elizabeth, are from Kentucky and went to University of Kentucky. It really makes football saturdays a lot of fun.
I am trying to find a job. I am a substitue teacher right now but would like something full time that ideally is 9-5 and that is why I am still looking. Brian just recently became platoon leader for the 410th military police unit and will be deploying in nine months, July 17th, 2009 to be exact. As much as I hate it, I have to live with it. I knew what I was getting into when I said yes to Brian at the altar! We plan on making the best out of the time we have left before he leaves because the 12 months without him will definetly be hard and depressing.

As most of you know we got a dog, Aubrey and she is getting so big so fast. I always said I would never tortue a dog by dressing 'em up, but I couldn't resist it! On Sunday we put her in the kitchen with the puppy gate up so we could get some cleaning done and before we knew it we heard her collar jingling down the hallway. We assumed she knocked down the gate but when we went back to the kitchen the gate was still standing. So, we put her back in to see if she would do it again and she did. She climbed up the gate and hopped over it. It was hilarious! We couldn't help but be impressed. She is our little spider dog! Pets are liking having a kid because you watch them grow up and some of the stuff they do are just the funniest things. Well, that is all for now!

  2. Amanda! I am so glad that you started a blog! Your puppy is so cute. I have been trying to talk Michael into getting one since day one. Avery is obsessed with dogs so I think together we can win him over! I'm excited to hear more about your life!
